THE Australian Association for the Study of Religion

The Australian Association for the Study of Religion (AASR) is an organisation whose mission is to foster the development of high quality scholarship about religion in Australia and the Asia-Pacific Region. 

Both multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary in scope, our members come from a diversity of scholarly backgrounds and training, including Religious Studies, the Sociology of Religion, Political Science, History, Philosophy, Anthropology and Theology. 

We offer a meeting place for scholars to engage, contest ideas and collaborate. Through our national conference, journal and newsletter we simultaneously contribute to the development of up and coming academics and promoting dialogue between world leading scholars on issues of national and international significance.

The AASR seek to actively engage with our members and welcome those who wish to contribute to existing and new initiatives.
